eNewton Care
how should I care for my enewton gold jewelry?
We are proud to claim that enewton gold jewelry is water resistant! We do recommend avoiding direct contact between your pieces and any harsh chemicals, which can be found in perfumes, cosmetics, and soaps, as they can cause the beautiful finish to darken much more quickly than they should. Gently wiping the product down to remove chemicals from the surface of your pieces is the best approach when caring for your gold-filled jewelry. To clean, simply use a soft cloth with warm water. For a deep clean, our team loves using "Sparkle Bright Products All-Natural Jewelry Cleaner". We cannot guarantee that once a piece has darkened due to exposure that it can be salvaged, which is why it is important to take proper care steps throughout the lifetime of your jewelry so that you can enjoy your special pieces for many years to come!
how should I care for my enewton silver and mixed metal jewelry?
We are committed to quality materials, such as sterling silver. We design for worry-free wear, so you can swim, sweat, and shower in style. However, over time, exposure to water and harsh chemicals may darken your sterling piece. To restore the shine, you can use a mild soap and water mixture, a silver cleaning solution, or a soft polishing cloth. We recommend the brand "connoisseurs" silver jewelry cleaner or any type of sterling approved polish.
how should I care for my enewton pearl jewelry?
enewton offers crystals with a satin pearl finish. We recommend that you avoid contact between your enewton pearls and water/chemicals.
how should I care for my enewton beaded chokers?
When not being worn, we strongly recommend that you lay your pieces on a flat surface to avoid chain over-stretching from the weight of the beads. We are proud to say that 100% of our gold products are 14k gold-filled and can be enjoyed at all times for worry-free wear. Because we choose to work with precious metals for their resistance to tarnishing, unfortunately the delicate chain necklaces can stretch - as all chains made of precious metals can inevitably stretch. 14k gold-fill is a softer more malleable metal than say, iron or steel, thus can stretch and thin if not properly cared for. Tugging and improper storage can both be culprits of chain stretching.
how should I care for my enewton rings?
Every gold-filled ring has a "solder mark" and will eventually have these marks after wear - they are not defective. To bond the 14k gold fill metal to create a ring, we must heat the two ends up to a high enough temperature that they will adhere to one another. Next, we plate this area with 14k gold to give the ring a consistent gold finish. Because this point is plated rather than gold-filled, water, chemicals, and continued use can eventually expose this small solder mark.
what is the difference between 14kt gold-filled and gold plated?
Gold-filled jewelry by definition is "composed of a solid layer of gold, mechanically bonded to a base metal." It provides the quality one would expect from solid gold. Gold-plated, on the other hand, will tarnish and can result in discoloration. enewton design is proud to carry gold-filled products, which offer consumers a high-quality, long lasting piece of jewelry. Please be sure to read our "care" page to learn about how to care for your jewelry so you can wear your pieces for many years to come!

my necklace stretched. why?
We are proud to say that 100% of our gold products are 14k gold-filled and can be enjoyed at all times for worry-free wear. Because we choose to work with precious metals for their resistance to tarnishing, unfortunately the delicate chain necklaces can stretch - as all chains made of precious metals can inevitably stretch. 14k gold-fill is a softer more malleable metal than say, iron or steel, thus can stretch and thin if not properly cared for. Tugging and improper storage can both be culprits of chain stretching. Our beaded chokers can stretch due to the weight of the beads on the chain over time. We recommend laying your pieces on a flat surface when not being worn. While enewton is not responsible for stretched chain outside of 45 days of purchase, we are happy to assist if you wish to have your chain swapped out or repaired for a small fee. If you wish to move forward with a repair, please fill out the repair form on our website and a customer experience team member will reach out.
